Restart of the PhD Forum „Science and Practice“

The PhD Forum „Science and Practice“ will start again and give PhD Students the opportunity to exchange experiences with and ideas on their professional environment. Those who are interested to take part in a first meeting can contact Anita Thonipara.

The PhD Forum was founded by PhD students from various different disciplines who took part in the practical year “Praxismodul to connect Science and Profession” by the Volkswagen Foundation. Focus of the forum is to give collegial advice and to exchange experiences and challenges in a professional context as well as connecting the own PhD research with professional practice. Furthermore, group coachings and trainings on professional competencies are regularly part of the forum and help to reflect upon the own professional career and desires.

As the founders of the PhD Forum have completed their PhDs, a new generation should get the opportunity to benefit from the forum. Two participants of the old forum will accompany the restart of the forum before handing it over to the new generation.

Any PhD student is invited (preferable with practical experience outside of academia) who is interested to reflect upon the own professional life and perspectives and who are open to develop further.
