Schedule for the next Week of Methods
The next interdisciplinary Week of Methods will take place in presence at the Historical Observatory and the adjacent Conference Centre by the Observatory from September 11th – 14th, 2023.
The Week of Methods will open with a keynote by Dr. Olaf Tietje (Munich): „Why am I doing research again?“ Ethics and Responsibilities in Qualitative Research.
For the following days, you can choose from these parallel method-workshops in order to broaden your methodological knowledge in an interdisciplinary way:
- Workshop 1: Qualitative Social Research – Combining and Triangulating Data and Methods (Ina Alber-Armenat, Goettingen)
- Workshop 2: Text as Data: Computational Methods of Data Collection and Text Analysis (Valentin Gold, Goettingen)
- Workshop 3: Multivariate Time Series Analysis with R (Markus Fülle, currently working for Deutsche Bank / Frankfurt a.M.)
- Workshop 4 (not confirmed yet): Due to a short-term cancellation, an alternative offer from the field of law or development economics is still in planning.
In favor of optimizing the compatibility of a PhD and care obligations, the time schedule of the Week of Methods has been adjusted to regular kindergarten opening hours.
Application deadline will be May 30th until June 27th, 2023.
