International Welcome Day 2018 in retrospect

On October 4, 2018, the first joint Welcome Day for all international PhD students of the four Göttingen University graduate schools took place. This Welcome Day was part of the Introductory Week for International Students. The program offered guided city tours in small groups, a workshop on „German Academic Culture“ and the more informal event „Meet your Graduate School“, where PhD students were welcome to ask questions on the offers of their graduate schools and gather information on funding measures.

Subsequently, participants were invited to a welcome by the mayor in Göttingen’s old town hall, where the day was concluded with lively discussion, drinks and live music.
