We proudly present: Statistics Consultant for PhD students

In cooperation with the Graduate Schools, the Center for Statistics offers statistical consulting for PhD students. The consulting service supports PhD students regarding the handling of different types of data (e.g. cross-sectional, longitudinal or time series data) and model selection (e.g. generalized linear models, mixed models or structural equation models). Additionally, the implementation of the data analysis in different statistical software packages (R, SPSS, Stata) or advice on the interpretation and scientific representation of results are part of the consulting service.

Since November 2018 Dr. Jennifer Lorenz is responsible for the statistical consulting. She studied Sociology with a special focus on Empirical Research and Statistics at the University of Cologne. Afterwards she was part of several research projects and in 2017 she completed her PhD in Education Research at Goettingen University. Her dissertation focused on social inequalities in the German education system, which she analyzed with data from the German National Educational Panel Study (NEPS).
