Virtual Expert Talk on Nov 16: Building Your Global Career

In this presentation, the speaker will discuss key strategies that are important to consider when designing a global career, inside and outside academia. Specifically, she will focus on networking techniques, building your personal advisory board, securing interviews, fixed vs. growth mindsets, and working outside of your comfort zone.

Dr. Joann Halpern is the director of the Hasso Plattner Institute, New York, and adjunct professor of International Education at New York University. Before, she was founding director of the German Center for Research and Innovation, NY, as well as director of international programs at Harz University in Wernigerode.

Online course “Building International Careers”

The former certificate programme ‚Building International Careers‘ became a self-paced online course in Stud.IP that supports you in planning your international career path right from the start! The course consists of four online career modules with individual tasks and detailed instructions for group activities on topics covering the whole application process. You can get started anytime alone or together with peers.
