Lecture: The Policy of Birth. (Feminist) Perspectives on the Economization of Midwifery, January 18, 2018
In her lecture, Dr. Tina Jung presents several central aspects of the current change in midwifery, which is mostly understood as economization, forced medicalization and mechanization. Furthermore, she asks how this development in the area of pregnancy and birth is discussed, on the one hand in political initiatives (of mothers or parents), and on the other hand in scientific approaches, especially in the field of gender studies.
This lecture (in German) is organized by the Equal Opportunities and Diversity Unit in cooperation with the Göttingen Center for Gender Studies and the Department of Medical Ethics and History of Medicine. The lecture will take place in ZHG 005. Further information can be found at www.uni-goettingen.de/en/575208.html.
