Göttinger Graduiertenschule Gesellschaftswissenschaften

Info Event „Research in Europe“ (12.10.23)

You are warmly invited to join us for the Research in Europe event (in English) on Thursday 12 October at the ZHG (Platz der Göttinger Sieben 5).

Organised by the European Liaison Office of the German Research Organisations (KoWi) and the University of Göttingen, this event is open to all students and researchers across Germany – so feel free to forward it to colleagues. It is of particular interest to those who want to know how research funding in Germany can support academic career paths. There will be opportunities to attend talks, as well as chat in person with funders and research organisations. You can also get tips from experts from the Göttingen Campus who work to support researchers here with their careers and funding applications. As well as early career researchers, this event is suitable for professors who would like to get more information for the researchers they supervise.

The first talk kicks off at 9:00 and it will put your career choices in the context of a dynamic research funding environment by giving an overview of the “Perspectives on the research assessment reform” and how this could affect research funding, especially for early career researchers.

You are welcome to join us for the whole day for networking and information exchange, or come and go during the day, dip into the talks or grab a coffee and get to know funders, research organisations and experts from Göttingen at their info stands from 10:00.

To plan your visit, take a look at our programme here https://uni-goettingen.de/researchineurope and register by 10 October.

Feel free to come back to us with any queries – rie@uni-goettingen.de.

We look forward to seeing you there!

All the best,

Melissa Sollich | Dr. Maren Zempel-Gino | Kirsten Schleifer
